This means that Joffrey is not the rightful heir to the throne! So of course that means the brothers of the late king, Stannis Baratheon (who considers himself to be the rightful heir) and younger brother, Renly Baratheon have even more reason to fight for the Iron Throne. In this book, it seems like everyone has decided to become king and even more so after people discover that Joffrey is a bastard (in both senses) and is in fact the result of brother and sister (and twins!) Cersei and Jamie Lannister long ongoing love affair.

With Robert Baratheon deceased and 12 year old, bad-tempered son, Joffrey Baratheon expected to hold the iron throne and rule the Seven Kingdoms, things were never going to be easy for the kingdom and their people. This kind of well-written and fantastic story doesn’t come along very often. The first book of the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series left us on a bit of a cliffhanger and so I was extremely excited to get stuck in to the second book of the phenomenal series. This is one story that everyone should be into. normally and I still regret nothing.) I encourage everyone to read this series. It was the kind of book that I’d read right before I went to sleep and didn’t put down until 4 a.m. Sometimes long books can be a drag, and I can’t finish them.

Martin knows how to write a long book that doesn’t bore you to death, and that’s rare. I just don’t know what else to say about it. The story flows really well, and even though there is a lot of shifts in characters, the story never really loses momentum. I already have the third book, and I shall read it once I finish the book I’m reading now. I get lost in the world of the Seven Kingdoms, and I find myself just resurfacing into the real world wishing that dragons were real. If anything, I’m more invested in the story and its characters. Sequels can often ruin a series, but that wasn’t the case with CoK. So let me tell you my feels on the whole thing.

I recently finished A Clash of Kings by George R.R.
